Christmas Presents! :D

I had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you did too.  I got some awesome books for Christmas and It will definitely help me in my journey as an artist for years to come. I got "The Graphic Artist's Guild to Ethical Pricing" and "The Artist's Guide to Drawing Domestic Animals". My teacher recommended the first one and the other one is really handy as well! :) I have already started reading this awesome books.

Books Come Alive - WIP

I wanted to color my "Books Come Alive" design that I did.  Its a work in progress.  I plan to digitally paint it I just started adding some basic color and later I will do more shading.  Here's what I got so far. :)

                                                                              Linework

Linework Overlayed (I think I might do this with just color instead of line work)

                                                                 Color and Linework

Rough layout

Here's my rough layout for my design for "Books come alive". I had a lot of fun with this. :) I am going to draw this and my mom is going to paint it if we get chosen for the library competition. I am so excited even if we don't get picked i'll have a cool picture to show for it. Here's a rough thumnail of what I have.

                                                                      Here's what I started with.

Books Come Alive

A library in a nearby town is looking for artists to participate in a contest. The contest is called- "Books Come Alive".  The library is wanting to paint a mural in their library or would like it to be a canvas work that is framed and put into the library.  So, they've asked artists and the such to come and submit designs based on their title "Books come alive". I did some brainstorming of what kind of design I would like. The deadline is by like the middle of next week or something for the sketches. Here's my rough thumbnails.
