Senior Project- Turnarounds

This week I've been busy working on my character turnarounds for senior project.  They are going well so far.  I also did some more exploration art with all the characters in the scene. I have already started my rough storyboarding too. Please visit my site and take a look. :)

Rough layout

Here's my rough layout for my design for "Books come alive". I had a lot of fun with this. :) I am going to draw this and my mom is going to paint it if we get chosen for the library competition. I am so excited even if we don't get picked i'll have a cool picture to show for it. Here's a rough thumnail of what I have.

Old Sketchbook

Here are some old sketches from last semester's sketchbook. I can't wait until I can upload my sculpture and figure drawing work. :)But, in the meantime here's some work from last year. After taking figure drawing I've really improved on the human anatomy but, this was before that.  :)

Books Come Alive

A library in a nearby town is looking for artists to participate in a contest. The contest is called- "Books Come Alive".  The library is wanting to paint a mural in their library or would like it to be a canvas work that is framed and put into the library.  So, they've asked artists and the such to come and submit designs based on their title "Books come alive". I did some brainstorming of what kind of design I would like. The deadline is by like the middle of next week or something for the sketches. Here's my rough thumbnails.

Doodle Dump

I've mostly been working on my senior project and I've been taking care of my brother's black lab puppy while my family is up at camp. So, I haven't been able to do a whole lot because that dog gets into everything. But, I managed to get a few random sketches this week. I'm hoping to get a new camera soon so I can post my work from last year from my fine art classes and from others.

Inspirational Design

This is some work that I got to create in my inspirational design class this year. There are a few I will have to upload later because I forgot to save the right file type but, here are some works that I've done this year.  Inspirational design was a really fun class. We got to Skype in once a week with animators, illustrators, and graphic designers.   We were assigned fun assignments with a given theme or based on words pulled from a hat.  We got to design banjo pigs, cereal boxes, superhero cards, movie posters, and illustrate our own version of a child's drawing. I enjoyed the class very much and I got inspired by other artists.

Little dogs and their cars

Just brainstorming some ideas for another one of my senior project animals of the circus.

1 minute squirrel sketches

I decided to practice gesteral drawing today by sketching squirrels in various poses and I tried to draw them each in a minutes timing.  I think drawing quickly gives it so much more energy and the poses are so much stronger.
