Hands, Feet, and Figures Oh my!

Just did some 30 minute figure studies and I tried a hands and feet one! I enjoyed the hands and feet a lot. I need to get more handle on my hands and feet.  Later, I will throw in some facial studies and I will do some animal ones too.  I love pixellovely. It's been such a helpful website for me.  I just gotta keep brushing up on my figure drawing skills and I'll keep in shape.

Gettin' the hang of things

I'm finally starting to get the hang of gestural drawing. I was trying to add too much detail before instead of looking and watching how the lines of the body are.  I'm making progress everyday.  Just got to keep working at it. :) Sorry if they are out of order.

Venom of the Red Lotus

So, I finally got Legend of Korra Book 3 on DVD and I already finished it! So, just for fun, I've been using the dvd player a lot and have been doing drawings from the episodes. I especially love the "Venom of the Red Lotus Episode". I plan on drawing lots more. :)

 

 

 

30 Minute Figure Study

I was using pixel lovely again.  I have been looking up tips for figure drawing and they most definitely helped this time around. I learned that to help myself I should do three things: find the line of action, use ovals and identify the head, the ribcage & pelvis, and finally find the joints and mark them for the major pivot points in the body.  It has really helped me and there's other little tips I've been picking up from this site.  I'm just going to keep studying the human anatomy everyday if i can. Most of my time labels are right I don't know if the the 8 minute one and the 5 minute one was that exact time but, close to that time interval.

30 minute Figure Study

A friend of mine showed me a wonderful human anatomy reference site called Pixel lovely! It is awesome! You can set a timer and draw lots of different human anatomy models. So, I plan on doing this once a day if I can. I need to get better at drawing the human anatomy. I started out with 10 -30 second sketches and then it progressed to longer sketches. The models are completely randomized on the site. So, we'll see what I get next time.
