Prehistoric Rider- Rough Sketches

I am designing a prehistoric rider theme for doodle United's next theme. I may end up doing a cutesy version of a prehistoric bear dog rider. I haven't decided yet. I've just designed some rough designs and ideas. I may have the bear dog hunting the Sivatherium. It's still in the extremely  rough stages.

An Artist's Confidence

I just had been struggling with self esteem, as an artist and I found this article. It was definitely worth the read. I've always had low self esteem since I was in grade school. Jobs didn't work out, could have done better in college, I'm too slow as an artist, wish I could be paying  off student loans faster but, I then remembered how far I've come  as a person - spiritually, emotionally, physically, and artistically. I've come a long  way from how my old art used to be. This article gave me hope that no  one has the gifts that I have, no one draws like me, no one has the same experiences, and no one can judge the same journey.  I've decided that I am going to continue learning, doing freelance commission,
Work and other practice art to build up my portfolio. I may even end up just being a freelance artist because I have a lot of projects in mind. I'm thankful for my gifts and I ponder how I will continue to use them for God's glory and to share my gifts with others.

Hyena-Pencil Brush Study

I practiced drawing a hyena with a pencil brush in Adobe Photoshop to get the feel of what they are like. It's a bit on the darker side and I should have added some more light but, this was a pretty quick one.

Prototype Book Developed

I had recently worked on a freelance commission for a local author. I drew and illustrated a book cover for Jason Gallegos and He has just begun the official writing for the book. He sent me a picture of it and he's pleased with my work and gave me a copy. I will also be getting a copy of the final book. I only did the illustrated cover not the text or book colors or design of the printed book. I  excited to get my name out there on Amazon and other websites in the near future. :)

Aliyah Ruyun

I've just started playing a couple sessions of dungeons and dragons and I love it so far! I am playing a Female Dragon born Paladin named Aliyah Ruyun who is a Noble Knight. I drew up some sketches for her. I plan on making them awesome digitally soon. :) Here's her thus far.

Book Cover Finished!

The first final draft is complete. I submitted it to the author and He really likes it. He wants a couple changes made to the color of the honey badger and fox but other than that he is happy with the outcome and that makes me happy. :) I will post the final rendition soon.

Book Cover Almost Done!

The book cover is almost completed. I still want to add some things and then I will see what the author thinks of it and see if there needs to be any revisions. It took me quite a while to work on this but, I'm happy with how it's turning out. It's rather simple but, I think small things help you work on larger things later. I'll keep you posted :)

Book Cover- Progress

I  have been busy working on a book cover for a local author in Indiana. It is due friday  so I have been busy. Below, are three sketch ideas I had come up with. He liked the first design so, I am recreating it with a simple shading style and neat linework. I've got a lot to do but, it is close to being completed. Below the sketches I posted my current progress. I'm pretty happy with the outcome so far. I will post the final one and the revisions if there are to be any. :)

Progress so far...

Freelance Opportunity

I am so excited for a new freelance opportunity that I've gotten in the past day or so. I was asked by a new author in Huntington to design a children's book cover. It's a small start but, I am hoping it will go well and start to get my work out there. I will keep you all posted. I won't say much as I want to make sure everything goes well before spreading the news. :)

Valentine's Flyer

My work asked me to design another flyer for the store to put in bags for this year's Valentine's Day. So, I started off doing a bunch of designs and I have finally found one that I like. Here is the final versions. The first one is without the background and the second is one with the background. I am very pleased with this design. :)
